Taught core and elective courses in the graduate art therapy program and the larger undergraduate program including; Fieldwork I, II and III Supervision Seminars providing faculty supervision for art therapy interns placed in a wide range of settings spanning traditional in-patient psychiatric treatment to enrichment programs that serve children and adults. Also taught human Growth and Development, Child Art Therapy, Adolescent Art Therapy, Ethical and Legal issues in Art Therapy I and II, Art Assessment and Evaluation in Art Therapy II, Materials Seminar, Family Art Therapy, and Introduction to Art Therapy and the Creative Process as Art Therapy. Provide guest lectures, as needed on topics such as Art-based Research Methods, Child and Adolescent Art Therapy, Ethics, and Materials.

2008 – 2014, Visiting Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, University of Illinois at Chicago, Department of Psychiatry, Mental Health Policy Program. Provided comprehensive consultation and training and oversight to residential agencies and hospitals serving children who are wards of the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services.


2012 – 2013, Student Veterans Creative Strengths Project, University of Illinois College pf Nursing, Chicago, Illinois.

Collaborated in the development and implementation of this creative support group for nursing students who are veterans that incorporated visual art, creative writing and performance. This interdisciplinary group was developed by faculty from the University of Illinois Department of Psychiatry, the College of Nursing, and the Disabilities Studies Program and was funded by a grant from the University’s Council for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL).

Provided art therapy supervision for those seeking post-graduate credentials and licensure through the Art Therapy Credentials Board and the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
